Holiday Gift Guide // Academy Sports + Outdoors

Once Thanksgiving hits, it seems like we have 2 days to buy gifts between work, school, holiday events (if you’re not planning to attend an ugly Christmas sweater party, get to work because they’re so fun), and preparing to host a meal for more people than the previous year. Oh, and let’s not forget the detailed house cleaning that’ll occur to cover up how you actually live day to day - 4 loads of laundry, sink full of dishes, dog hair all over, and what’s mopping anyway? Hopefully it’s not that extreme but the point is that life gets busy and it’s about to get busier between the two biggest holidays of the year. Are you shopping for a hunter, outdoorsman or woman, or even want to get yourself something special this Christmas? Let me help! Head to your nearest Academy Sports + Outdoors to check off your gift list. After all, they make it easier for everyone to enjoy more sports and outdoors at low prices. Here are a few of my personal picks, which you’ll notice revolve around comfort, convenience, and warmth - all the things we love during the holidays!

Altec Lansing In-Stereo Metal Bluetooth Earbuds: I wish I would’ve had these forever ago! Between constantly being on an airplane and working out regularly, they’re worth every penny. They’re also nice to have so that I’m not holding a phone to my ear on long conference calls. They’re probably the most comfortable headphones I’ve had (most hurt my ears) and I really love the gold color for something more feminine than the standard black!

Altec Lansing Mini H20 Waterproof Bluetooth Portable Speaker: I’ve actually been gifted countless portable speakers over the years and used them heavily between college tailgating, sitting around campfires at deer camp, or simply hanging around the house. However, I might’ve added lake and river days to that list if I had one that was waterproof with the ability to FLOAT! This speaker (which was conveniently located near the earbuds I previously mentioned) does both!! It’s by far the most compact and lightweight design I’ve ever had! It also reaches out to 30 feet and comes with a carabiner clip which is a favorite for any avid outdoorsman.

YETI Rambler 10 oz Lowball: Of all the YETI cups I currently own (because they’re such great gifts and my friends have good taste!), I can’t believe I’ve never seen this one! I love that it fits into most cup holders because this particular model doesn’t have a handle. That’s a big deal for someone constantly traveling and that loves a good cup of coffee for the road - I’m sold!

Montauk 50” x 70” Acrylic Berber Throw Blanket: I would 100% consider myself a blanket junky. I don’t think it’s possible to have too many, especially of all different sizes, thicknesses and material. I’m glad I came across this Sherpa lined blanket that’s thinner without sacrificing the warmth! This is the perfect addition to any home!

Sof Sole Women’s Fireside Slippers: These couldn’t have been put in front of me at a more perfect time! I have poor circulation in my feet so they’re constantly cold, especially living in a travel trailer with less insulation than your typical home. They're warm without squeezing your feet or making them sweat, and the little grippies on the bottom are a nice touch. This is also a really affordable gift!

Dallas Manufacturing Company 30” x 25” Cuddler Pet Bed: Do I even need to expand on this one? Let your pet be the judge. Junebug crawled right in and owned that bed! She was asleep within minutes while I caught up on some work emails. Look at that happy girl!

Lodge Sportsman’s Grill: I assumed this would be much heavier with it being cast iron but it’s not! It’s the perfect size to throw in the truck and take on the road, which is the norm in my life, especially during football and hunting season. Being able to drop the tailgate and grill up a steak over hot coals is hard to beat, especially when it’s from your own whitetail buck!

Outdoor Gourmet Deluxe Aluminum BBQ Tool Set: This is a great compliment to the previously mentioned Sportsman’s Grill. It’s everything you need in one spot, it even comes with corn cob holders and skewers! The tools come in a durable hinged aluminum case with handles as well, making it convenient for at home use as well as traveling.

Mosaic 30” Kyrie Fire Pit: I’ve honestly never looked at fire pits until this one because it’s easy to get carried away. I can’t justify spending a fortune when I’ve built countless fires on my archery hunts without a metal pit of any kind. However, it’s really nice to have something off the ground while I’m home that can be easily moved around because it only weighs a little over 10lbs. It’s the perfect size for any backyard. Also, it looks much nicer than just dirt and rocks, ha! I have some wonderful memories around campfires and I’m happy to start making more right at home!
